Lymington

Lymington is a vibrant Georgian market town with loads of fascinating history, built on the estuary of the Lymington River. In the 1800s Lymington had a reputation for smuggling, and for a long time it was an important area for the production of salt from the marshes to the west of the town.

There is a lot to see and do in Lymington. You can take fishing trips from the attractive quay or take the car ferry to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.

Lymington boasts 3 supermarkets, including Waitrose, M&S and Tesco, and many good independent shops selling gifts of all kinds, ladies fashion, shoes and accessories. There is also a good range of pubs and restaurants to suit all budgets.

Lymington Market runs all day on a Saturday, all year round. It takes up the whole length of the High Street and sells a wide variety of products in a great atmosphere.
