Places to visit in the New Forest

Bartley Barn offers fabulous views over open forest to the West (with some great sunsets!). There is direct access to open forest with miles of walking, cycling, and horse-riding terrain - literally from your front gate. It is a short walk to the local pub, The Turfcutter's Arms which has with good food and local beers. The village shop and post office is a few hundred yards and sells nearly everything, there is also a friendly local garage. We are ideally situated for visits to Beaulieu National Motor Museum which is just 2 miles away. Lymington is a local market town about 5 miles away and has a full range of shops and restaurants, regular ferries to the Isle of Wight, boat excursions, fishing trips and sailing. Brockenhurst is about 5 miles away and offers bike hire and a rail station with regular links to London. There are public slipways at Bucklers Hard, Lymington and Keyhaven (8 miles and ferry to Hurst Castle). There are lovely beaches at Milford on Sea with sand at low tide, and more sandy beaches as you approach Bournemouth.
